Our most recent addition to the Cardinal & McConnell Golf team, Teresa brings an enthusiasm and knowledge of the private club industry which embodies the vision & mission of McConnell Golf. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from Converse College in 1988, Teresa's club management career began while attending graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her fifteen year tenure as Club Manager and Event Coordinator at the prestigious Hope Valley Country Club in Durham, NC (a classic Donald Ross designed course) is a testament to her commitment and talent. She received her Certified Club Manager designation (CCM) in 2002 and, through continued education and service in the Club Manager's Association of America, has been recertified through 2012. Joining us in January 2007, her organizational skills and extensive knowledge of event coordination and food & beverage trends have already proven to be an asset to the new Cardinal Golf & Country Club. |

Scott has been a member of the Cardinal Golf & Country Club team since April of 1990 and received his Class "A" PGA member status in 1993. He was promoted to Head Golf Professional in 1995 and has served successfully in this capacity for the past 13 years. His seventeen years of experience as a Golf Professional combined with his extensive customer service and management skills have proven to be a valuable asset to the Cardinal Membership as Director of Golf Operations. Scott has been married to Tonya for 22 years, and their daughter, Stephanie, is a freshman at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Gary Stafford

Born and raised in Guilford County, North Carolina. A graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management, Gary began his career at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club in 1973 as Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Gary was promoted to Golf Course Superintendent at the Cardinal in 1975 where he continues to safeguard one of the finest golf courses in the Carolinas with great loyalty. Gary has been the Cardinal's "main man" in the renovation of the golf course by diligently overseeing this project. His supervision, leadership and guidance have aided several of his past assistants in obtaining head superintendents positions at other properties, a testament to a true mentor with passion for the green.

Lane Smith

A graduate of Harry-Georgetown College in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with a Turf Degree. Lane began his career in 1996 at the Cross Creek Country Club as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Lane than spent 7 years at Pine Knolls Golf Course as Head Superintendent before joining us at the Cardinal Golf and Country Club in 2006, as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. With his 20 year experience in the Golfing indutry, we are proud to have have him as a valuable asset to our Club. Lane has been married to Angie for 8 years, and has two children Skylar and Abigail.
